A reverse design journey: from art to architecture

Unlike traditional interior design, where artwork is often an afterthought, this project flipped the process entirely. It all began with a visit to Cinar Rugs, where our client formed a profound connection with a hand-knotted piece. The rug’s intricate design and rich textures moved them to tears. This was the moment that set the foundation for the entire project.

From that point forward, each room was built around a single cherished object, which we affectionately called the “love objects.” These deeply personal pieces—whether a painting, a rug, a sculpture, or textile—became the heart of each space, guiding the design choices in color, texture, and furniture selection.

This reverse approach, where art dictated architecture rather than the other way around, resulted in a truly one-of-a-kind home filled with personal meaning and aesthetic harmony.
